Festival
Detonante

logo design – branding – poster design – visual presentation – key visuals

Problem

Detonate Festival was an initiative of Diez Live and Revista Semana aimed at bringing to the Choco region of Colombia a festival encompassing music artists, innovative entrepreneurs, and TED-style talks. The event served as a platform for the community to foster new business ideas and contribute to the region’s development. As a new festival, the vision and representation of the area and culture are key aspects of the project.

Solution & Impact

As a graphic designer and art director, diving into this project would mean immersing myself in the lively spirit of the Choco region. I’d aim to blend its vibrant heritage with a contemporary twist, crafting a visual identity that pops with bold colors and dynamic energy. Drawing inspiration from the region’s cultural tapestry, I’d weave traditional patterns and the lush hues of its natural landscape into every design element. From eye-catching posters to playful merchandise like T-shirts and tote bags, I’d infuse each touchpoint with the same infectious energy, ensuring that the festival’s brand identity remains consistent and unmistakable. By harmonizing color palettes, typography, and imagery across all platforms, we’d create a cohesive visual language that leaves a lasting impression on festival-goers, reinforcing the unique essence of the Choco region at every turn.

My Role

  • Art director
  • Graphic Designer
  • Logo Designer

Over the course of four years, my involvement with Detonate Festival as an art director encompassed poster design, web design, and branding development. Collaborating closely with the creative and design departments, I spearheaded the development of visual concepts, and I was responsible for crafting the initial poster designs. Additionally, I delved into motion graphics to create impactful key visuals and presentations, ensuring a cohesive and engaging visual narrative for the festival.
