Diamante Eléctrico, the biggest band in Colombia, South America, and one of its greatest acts, recently found themselves in need of their first vinyl pressing for their third and fourth albums. As Latin Grammy award winners and Grammy nominees, this was a significant moment for the band.

For the first vinyl, “Buitres,” we collaborated closely with visual artist and musician Alison Mosshart from the band The Kills. Utilizing one of her paintings proved instrumental in crafting a simple yet classic layout for the vinyl. We adorned the insert with a warm image of the band, adding a personal touch to the presentation. As for “MLQMHH,” our aim was to evoke a vintage and psychedelic vibe. We incorporated distortion effects in greens, reds, and burgundy tones for the insert, capturing the essence of classic psychedelia. We wanted to infuse it with intense tones that evoke the atmosphere of after parties and the urban feel of Bogota. This city’s vibrant energy and eclectic nightlife served as inspiration for the visual design.

My role in the project encompassed graphic design, photo retouching, and art direction. I was deeply involved in the manufacturing and printing process of the vinyl covers, ensuring that the visual presentation aligned perfectly with the artistic vision of each album.
